Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Last Saturday i got to watch the new pirates movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The movie was nothing special, but it was nice seeing Jack Sparrow back, and without Will and Elizabeth. In my opinion, the Will and Elizabeth storyline should've been done after the first movie and they overstayed their welcome. I liked the first two pirates movies, but the last two have been just meh. The last movie I saw in theaters was Tron: Legacy (which I didn't even want to see) so it was refreshing to go to the movies for the first time in a while. There haven't been many good movies out, and this isn't necessarily a good movie, but I thought it was worth watching just from being a fan of the series.
What would Disney do without Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow?
So yeah, in short the movie is not very good, but entertaining and worth watching nonetheless. The budget for this movie was much less than even for the 3rd one, and right now according to wikipedia the gross revenue is $390,847,774 so its doing pretty damn well. If you're thinking of seeing this movie go ahead and watch, it'll be a pretty entertaining 2 hours.

PSN

This is a little late, but after almost a month, PSN is back! We can no longer say PSN = Playstation Notwork. And just in time too! I bought a PS3 this past friday the 13th.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened this friday the 13th, which is just the way i like it. Anyway back to the PS3. I am definitely hitting up the new Mortal Kombat. I play it at my friends house a lot, its really fun and is nostalgia-inducing. I also might pick up a copy of LA Noire. LA Noire comes out tomorrow, and holds a 91/100 on metacritic based on 22 reviews :) I'm a huge GTA fan and I think I will enjoy LA Noire a lot as well.
Right now my computer isn't working so I can't play games i picked up off a recent sale on steam ie Dead Space, Dead Space 2, Crysis 1 complete, so I'll be playing a borrowed copy of Assassin's Creed 2 on my new PS3 :)

Let's Talk NBA

Lets talk sports. Specifically the National Basketball Association. The teams that are left are the Thunder, Grizzlies, Mavericks, Heat, Bulls, Celtics, and Hawks. Most people hate anything that is the Miami Heat, for obvious reasons. I actually did not mind the big 3 joining together because at least they're fun to watch. I for one cannot stand the Celtics as much as people can't stand the Heat. Who are you rooting for to win the Finals? Who do you think will actually win the finals? I'm usually not the elitist but i think the Heat will win the title this year, but I'm rooting for the young Thunder Squad.

Also you probably have seen this already, but if you haven't, check it out. If you read between the lines, the song Friday was actually about the assassination of president John F. Kennedy. Crazy shit!

Top 10 Skrillex Songs

Here are what I think are Skrillex's top 10 songs, and if you disagree feel free to discuss in comments. If you don't like this type of music don't waste your time commenting with some dumb hate response because nobody cares.

10. My Name is Skrillex

 9. Do Da Oliphant

8. Kill Everybody
7. This is a Shark Attack
6. Weekends
5. Fucking Die

4.Hey Sexy Lady
3. Reptile Theme
2. With you Friends (Long Drive)
1. Cinema

Notice how I didn't put Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. The song is good at first, but once you hear most of Skrillex's stuff you know that almost everything is better. What's your top 10?

Osama's Mansion...

Here are some odd information i found out through the daily show and surfing the wb about Osama bin Laden's hiding spot:
  • The house was a large mansion in an affluent suburb, in other words OUT OF PLACE
  • This mansion was surrounded by barbed wire
  • The mansion did not have phone or internet or TV
  • The mansion's trash was burned every night
  • When kids would kick soccer balls over the fence, the people at the house would pay the kids money to buy a new soccer ball
  • The mansion was just 800 yards away from a Pakistani military academy
  • The mansion was totally not shady in any way whatsoever (fact)
The former Pakistani president has said time and time again that Osama bin Laden was definitely not hiding in Pakistan, but the presence of a nearby military academy raises some eyebrows. I am not a conspirator, nor do I think this is a conspiracy, but I do think it's humiliating that Osama was not found sooner.

On an unrelated note, enjoy this song by Skrillex (Dubstep, electro genre)

The Big News: Osama bin Laden Dead

April showers bring May flowers. This year, May also brings the death of Osama bin Laden. Yep! The leader of Al Qaida and the man primarily responsible for September 11th attacks has been brought to justice. And no, unlike most people thought, he wasn't hiding in some cave in the middle of nowhere. In fact, he was hiding in a mansion 50 miles north of the Pakistani capital. That's brilliant ! No one would have thought to look in a mansion. It was specifically built in order to hide the bastard.
Obama made it official last night during a speech to the nation. They took DNA from the body and it matched his sister's. Obama had received intelligence about bin Laden's location a week prior, and gave the orders to proceed with an operation to kill him Sunday morning when he was in Alabama surveying the situation with those terrible storms. The operation that was carried out by a small group of navy SEALs actually meant for them to kill bin Laden. It is unfortunate that he did not die a slow painful death, and was instead shot in the head. Now I'm no patriot or anything, but that fucker needed to die. . Bin Laden and those with him were killed during a firefight, in which U.S. forces did not experience any injuries or casualties. 4 people were killed along with bin Laden, 3 men and 1 woman. The woman who died was used as a human shield, which is just evil :(
Bin Laden's death will help boost American morale during this war on terror, but it really doesn't do much to help the war on terror, except for achieving the necessary retribution. Many members of Al Qaida will be enraged that their leader has died, but it's not like they're gonna do anything drastic because they probably would've done something by now. Nonetheless, Americans are satisfied for the time being and it will help temporarily increase Obama's approval ratings.
What happens now? When will the war ever end? I'm all for the troops pulling out! What are your opinions?

I leave you with this picture.
Of course Fox News makes this mistake.

My Portal 2 Review

Occasionally, i will post reviews of things such as video games and movies. Seeing as how i just recently finished Portal 2's single player and co-op, I will write a review for this amazing game.

So where to begin? I guess first off, I want anyone who is reading this review to play through Portal 1 beforehand. That was a great, short game, but i feel like it was slightly overrated. Portal 2 is not overrated in the slightest bit. Portal 1 was pretty much a small bonus game that Valve put in the Orange Box. Portal 2 is a standalone game, and feels like one. Portal 1 flourished on how it was nothing that we've really seen before, being so unique. GLaDOS was new to us, and the game's humor was new. Having experienced that, how will Valve's sequel fare when we have already played through the first one? Short answer: Valve was up to the task.

The game is so polished and most parts of the game were almost flawless. With added elements such as repulsion gel, propulsion gel, conversion gel, excursion funnels,  and thermal discouragement beams, the puzzles are more ingenious than ever. When i would finish tough puzzles, I would always say to myself, "How the fuck did they come up with that and why couldn't I have figured it out before?" Even when Portal 2 gets tough, there is a perfect balance between the difficulty of the puzzles so that even if they take forever to figure out, you aren't frustrated. That's very hard to achieve.
There are added concepts to the game that make the puzzles even more fun and brilliant.
The story takes place right after the events of Portal 1, with the mute Chell still being the playable character. This time, the Aperture Science Facility is collapsing, and Chell needs to escape. Because the facility is collapsing, it does not look like the same, clean, test chambers you have seen in Portal 1, and that is a refreshing sight.

This isn't the same looking Aperture Science you've seen before. Plants are growing, and the facility is collapsing.
The game introduces a new character, Wheatley, who is a personality sphere who is trying to help Chell escape, but [minor spoiler] accidentally reboots GLaDOS and Chell is sent off to do some more testing! Woohoo! You might think, why the hell would i care about the story of a first person puzzler when the playable character is mute and only listens to those AI's? Well, for one, Valve wrote 13,000 lines of dialogue for Portal 2. The voice acting is not trash, either. It is the opposite. The voice actors for Wheatley, GLaDOS, and Cave Johnson suit their characters perfectly. There are also twists and turns which you wouldnt expect in a puzzler, and that was a pleasant surprise for me. Oh yeah, the ending is AWESOME.

Then there's the co-op. You and your partner in science (or friend, whatever you want to call it) play through a seperate cooperative campign and each person can make 2 portals. That means 4 portals in all. That opens up a vast amount of ideas for test chambers, and when you complete them you appreciate Valve's creativity. The co-op campaign takes place after the events of Portal 2's single player, and you play as one of 2 robots, Atlas and P-Body.
According to Aperture Science CEO Cave Johnson, Robots are 6 seconds more trustworthy than humans. The key to any cooperative assignment is trust.
The co-op requires the full cooperation of you and your partner, or completing the tests will be impossible. There's a non verbal tool you have access to, when you press the F key. You can tell your partner to do something, look somewhere, or press a lever in 3 seconds. This makes cooperation much easier and not frustrating.
Just because they're robots doesn't mean they can't show affection.
So pretty much, everything about this game is near perfect. It seems to good to be true, but it really isn't! This game is so polished and extraordinary, you HAVE to buy it. You have to. Some people complain about the game's length, but those people rush through the game and don't take time to enjoy the dialogue and environments, which i never understand. I took my time to enjoy the game, and beat both the single player and co-op in about 20 hours. It's quality over quantity, and I couldn't ask for better quality from this game. Not to mention, there will be FREE UPDATES with new content, which Valve is famous for. Do yourself a favor and buy this game!!! Just make sure you have a friend to play the co-op with.

With all that being said, a game can't ever be perfect.
9.7/10

Trouble in Terrorist Town

Trouble in Terrorist Town is my favorite Garry's Mod community made game.  Do you own Garry's Mod and Counter Strike: Source and want to try out something really fun? I really suggest you try Trouble in Terrorist Town, after reading this guide beforehand of course :P Join any server that starts with ttt_..... (the servers that run TTT). When you join your first TTT server, there will be a lot to download. Be patient! It will all be worth it. In Trouble in Terrorist Town (abbreviated to TTT), you are a terrorist. When the round begins, there will be an icon on the bottom left corner that tells you whether you are an innocent terrorist or a traitor. Only a small number of people every round are picked as traitors.  A few innocents are chosen to be detectives depending on how many people are in the server. The majority of players are innocents. TTT is a shooter, so you use guns and several melee weapons to kill people.
A few things to keep in mind:
  • When someone dies, they will be missing in action. Once their dead body is identified, they will be confirmed dead. Press and hold the tab menu to see who is confirmed dead and who is still alive.
  • Innocents cannot tell if someone is missing in action. They will still be in the still alive section. Only traitors and dead spectators see who is still alive.
  • If you die, you will spectate the match until the next round starts.
______________________________________________________

A traitor's job is simple: Kill anyone who is not a traitor. a "T" icon above a player's head means that they are a fellow traitor (only traitors can see this icon, obviously). My pressing C while playing the game, traitors are able to buy weapons that innocents and detectives cannot buy. The weapons available to you depend on the server. As a traitor, do not act overly suspicious, and be sneaky with your kills. You are outnumbered, there is no reason for you to start shooting at someone in a large crowd full of innocents. Use the element of surprise. TTT also has a time limit somewhere around 10 minutes (depending on the server) and if you run out of time the innocents win.

As an innocent or detective, your main job is to survive.Your secondary job, which is also important, is to kill people you know are traitors. You cannot kill people with little suspicion, however. This will lower your Karma (covered later). If you kill people with little suspicion, even if they do turn out to be traitors, admins on the server will either slay you next round, kick you, temporarily ban you, or permanently ban you. As innocents, always keep your fellow innocents updated on who acts suspicious and what not, and try not to wander off by yourself too much. Having a mic really helps because I don't have one right now and I get killed so many times while I'm typing. If people act suspicious, keep them on your list of suspicious characters. Examining bodies is really important. Examining bodies lets you know certain information on the person who was killed, such as if they were innocent, traitor or detective, the weapon they were killed with, if they had any last words, if the traitor left a DNA sample on the victim (covered later) and  who, if anyone, the victim killed beforehand By gathering evidence from several bodies, you can compile enough evidence to kill a traitor. Oh yeah, and of course, if you see someone outright kill an innocent they have to be traitors. Detectives are also innocent, but they have a few special abilities. They spawn with a DNA scanner. This DNA scanner is used to collect a DNA sample from a dead body that has a DNA sample on it and it will act as a radar that points towards the guy who killed that person. Detectives are also able to buy equipment, but the equipment is different than the traitor gear. Additionally, everyone: traitors and innocents alike, can see who the detectives are because it will say DETECTIVE in blue under the person's name. This way, detective can act as suspicious as they want since everyone knows they are detectives.
_____________________________________________________
Karma is really important as well. You begin with around 1000 Karma, which you can see if you hold tab. If you kill or damage  your own teammates, you lose Karma. When you lose Karma, you get a penalty to your damage, starting next round. If your karma is less than what is supposed to be, make sure not to commit any friendly fire and your karma should go up. Karma cannot go higher than around 1000, in which you do normal damage. Many servers ban people with really low karma, because it's obvious that those people are just killing people randomly, aka TROLLAN'.

Here are the keys that you need to know:
  • Q drops the weapon you have currently have equipped
  • For most weapons, you can aim down your sights with right click
  • C opens up the buying equipment menu (traitors and detectives only
  • Hold tab to look at the scoreboard
  • Hold left shift to voicechat with other traitors
  • Scroll with middle mouse button to switch weapons
A few other noteworthy things:
  • You spawn with a magneto stick. It is used to move objects. Right click to pick up, left click to drop.
  • Traitors, don't identify your victim''s body. That's stupid. Furthermore, hide the body.
  • If you are frustrated at first, don't fret. With a bit experience the game will become really enjoyable.
  • "RDM", or randomly deathmatching, is what people on the server call killing people without sufficient evidence.
  • "KOS" means kill on sight. If someone says "KOS so and so", kill the person that was called out if you are innocent. If you are the one being called out, you might as well kill innocents on sight since they will try to kill you as soon as they spot you.
  • It is not against the rules to lie. Innocents and traitors alike lie all the time, sometimes to cover something up, or sometimes just because they're douchebags.
  • Oh did i mention? You will, sadly, find a lot of douchebags on TTT. Some try to be funny, some just want attention. I suggest ignoring them.
  • HAVE FUN!!! It's an awesome game that you will surely play for a long time!
Here are just a few funny screenshots me or my friends took while playing TTT, just click the pic to enlarge it:

I play on conjoint gaming's TTT server because it has fun custom items and interfaces. Here's the IP: 173.243.121.194:27015
I hope this guide was easy enough and interesting enough to read, have fun and see you in game!

For Starters

I just made this blog, partially because of boredom, partially because my friend got me into it, and partially because i want to share my ideas with people on the internet. I'm new to blogging altogether, so I'd be happy if you give me feedback! My blog won't really follow a common theme, It'll just consist of things that I feel are worth sharing, and things that are on my mind. If something in my blog interests you, you could follow me because things related to that topic that might interest you might pop up on my blog once again. Again, I welcome feedback on my blog posts so feel free to comment where you see fit! Most importantly, however corny this sounds, I hope you have fun on my blog! I hope this will be as fun as it looks :)
For starters, check out this funny picture:
